ECK Light and Sound Services

Each service focuses on an aspect of Eckankar and lasts about an hour. Our services feature readings from the ECK works, singing HU—a prayer to God, and may include creative arts and talks on the topic of the day.

Join us for an opportunity to bring more insight and divine love into your life. Experience the Light and Sound of God. Services may be followed by fellowship where light refreshments are served.

Topic: “The HU in our everyday life”

Contemplation seed:

HU, this ancient name for God, is a love song to God. In singing it or holding it in your mind during times of need, it becomes a prayer of the highest sort. It becomes a nondirected prayer. This means that we invite the Holy Spirit to take care of the affairs in our life according to the divine plan. There is power and love in the word HU. It’s another way of saying, “May the blessings be.” (‘The Sound of Soul”, by Harold Klemp, p. 35)

There’s an old saying that every cloud has a silver lining. When a cloud comes into your life, look for the silver lining because it’s there. If you can’t see what the silver lining in the cloud is, sing HU. This will open your heart so you can say, “Thy will be done.” This is the real meaning of the word HU. It’s adopting the attitude “Not my will, but thy will.” If you pray to God, be thankful for the gift of life. Thank God for that, then go on and handle the rest of your life as best you can.( ‘The Sound of Soul’, by Harold Klemp, p. 45)
